Information about Membership
The power to elect duly proposed and seconded ordinary members is vested in the committee. Candidates for Honorary Membership may be recommended by the Committee for election by ballot of the Members at an Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- How to become a member
Prospective new members are advised to contact the Secretary who will answer or clarify any questions regarding categories of membership and subscriptions, completion of application forms, the election procedure and the cost and benefits of membership.
- Benefits of membership
Members in good standing are entitled to use the Members' Car Park and Lounge at the Society's annual championship show. Members, other than Honorary Members, have full voting rights and all voting members are eligible to attend, propose and speak on resolutions at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) or any other duly convened meeting of the Members as may be called from time to time.
- Cessation of membership
Members who wish to resign may do so, in writing, at any time. Annual subscriptions fall due on election and on the first day of January in each ensuing year. The names of members whose subscription remains unpaid after the last day of February may be removed from the Register of Members by virtue of non-payment of fees. The names of Members in arrears may, at the discretion of the Committee, be restored to the Register provided a satisfactory explanation is received and all oustanding fees are paid in full.
